Playing Possum
By
I found this little guy crawling through the landscape in our backyard. And I had to post it on the blog, right? I mean how often do you see a cute, baby possum?
(Here’s where it gets PG-13, for violence) I had to, umm, ‘discard’ of the little critter. Why? Because I’m cruel and mean?! Actually I’m quite the softy when it comes to any animals.
The issue? He may seem cute now, but he’s a rodent. He’d grow up. And eventually he’d cause problems.
They aren’t very cute when they grow up.
“…after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” (James 1:15)
They are so sweet when they’re little. You can pick him up by the tail and he’ll wrap it around your finger like a branch.
But you’re right..they’re nasty when they get BIG.
Apparently – the lack of action within Indy 4 caused you to work out some man-issues on the poor baby possum.
I’m going to start calling you Godfather since you apparently whacked the rodent.
“Hey – where’s the possum?”
“Possum? Oh, you won’t see him around no more.” (Theme music playing in the background)
mcc – you’re right, his ‘cuteness’ created the tension for me. :) Hey, love your blog as well – and i see you’re a fellow Oregonian (well, i wasn’t native!). Let’s touch base sometime at church – would love to hear your story!
