Something about a Rolling Stone and No Moss….

Man. Those are some ugly feet.

And I think this picture captured the only moment in the past two weeks that they’ve been standing still.

Leslee and I have been on a crazy ride recently, causing one of our friends to tag us as “travelin’ fools”.  In the last 10 days:

  • I spoke at a leadership training gathering in Ewing, NJ.
  • We spent an evening with my brother and his wife at the New Jersey shore (thus the ugly feet picture).
  • I spoke at two services for Central Bible Church. (this church is growing and on the move…great leadership, great future)
  • We caught a day of sight seeing in Philly (our first visit there – loved it)
  • We caught a train from Philly to go spend a day seeing the sights in New York City (I love the Big Apple – but what is heaven for me is often, uh, not so much heaven for Leslee)
  • I played Emcee for our Innovate Conference (what a blast. If Ryan Seacrest is ever fired, I’d love a shot at the gig)
  • Spent two days in Chicago with a team of 12 leaders from GCC-Elkhart, touring 3 Willow Creek campuses (multisite stuff – great time)
  • Rescued “Lindsay” from O’Hare airport (that might need some explaining…she’s my daughter’s favorite doll.  Bottom line:  she’s family, Lauren had left her at the airport, and my job is to be my daughter’s hero)

No moss has been growing under those ugly feet.

What I haven’t done the last two weeks?  Been to our Elkhart Campus.  And I’ve miss it!

I’m excited to be digging in this week on some clarifying thoughts that will bring laser focus for our leadership, increased health for our volunteer teams, and greater impact through our Elkhart Campus.  And I’m really looking forward to being there again this Sunday!

I promise to wear shoes.
